This little change will save editors a lot of clicks! It's a wonder we didn't think of it before! <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/WordPress\/gutenberg\/pull\/67116\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">#67116<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"\u26a1-performances-boostees-prechargement-speculatif\">\u26a1 Boosted performance: speculative preloading<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>WordPress 6.8 adds plugin-based functionality <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/speculation-rules\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Speculative Loading<\/a> which will now be part of the WordPress core. It is the <strong>speculative preloading<\/strong>an API that communicates with web browsers. It speeds up page loading by anticipating visitor interactions.  For the time being, it is only supported by Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera). Firefox <a href=\"https:\/\/developer.mozilla.org\/en-US\/docs\/Web\/API\/Speculation_Rules_API\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">test this experiment<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/developer.mozilla.org\/en-US\/docs\/Web\/API\/Speculation_Rules_API\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">e<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/developer.mozilla.org\/en-US\/docs\/Web\/API\/Speculation_Rules_API\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ntally<\/a>. Core WP <a href=\"https:\/\/core.trac.wordpress.org\/ticket\/62503\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">#62503<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This new technology is arousing curiosity, and LRob hopes to be able to measure its impact on server utilization and other metrics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"\ud83d\udd0e-affichage-des-boucles-de-requetes-plus-efficaces\">\ud83d\udd0e Display more efficient query loops<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>From now on, it will be possible to <strong>filter content by year, paginate more efficiently and structure queries<\/strong> with greater flexibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Query loops were causing logic issues when displaying highlighted posts in the editor. This will finally be corrected in WordPress 6.8. <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/WordPress\/gutenberg\/issues\/68570\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">#68570<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/WordPress\/gutenberg\/pull\/66126\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">#66126<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It will be possible to ignore sticky posts and simply display all articles. Not just the sticky ones, or just the non-sticky ones. This will simplify the layout of query loops. And finally! <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/WordPress\/gutenberg\/issues\/66221\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">#66221<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It will also be possible to define a depth limit for child pages (sub-categories). <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/WordPress\/gutenberg\/issues\/68620\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">#68620<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"\ud83d\udc49-amelioration-de-l-api-dinteractivite-introduite-dans-6-7\">\ud83d\udc49 Enhanced interactivity API introduced in 6.7<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>At the very least, the \"lightbox\" in the gallery block will be back, along with an instant search function. And full-page navigation will be improved (no issue reference provided by WP.org, so it's hard to know what this means in concrete terms), with regional enhancements (depending on language).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other related functionalities are in the pipeline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"\ud83d\udda5\ufe0f-affichage-des-donnees-ameliorees-dans-le-back-office\">\ud83d\udda5\ufe0f Improved data display in the back office<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>WordPress 6.8 unifies the behavior of lists and grids displaying templates in the site editor, for example. The discussion is so huge that it would take hours to summarize. For this one, we'll have to wait for the release! <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/WordPress\/gutenberg\/pull\/67477\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">#67477<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On page or post properties, it will be possible to edit several fields at once, saving a large number of clicks. <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/WordPress\/gutenberg\/pull\/65399\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">#65399<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A confirmation has been added when emptying items from the page recycle garbage can in the FSE editor. <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/WordPress\/gutenberg\/pull\/67824\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">#67824<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The margins around the action buttons have been slightly reduced to avoid wasting space. <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/WordPress\/gutenberg\/pull\/67032\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">#67032<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grid display lets you choose the display density. <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/WordPress\/gutenberg\/pull\/67170\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">#67<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/WordPress\/gutenberg\/pull\/67170\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">17<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/WordPress\/gutenberg\/pull\/67170\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">0<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A badge can be added to view grids (for template synchronization, for example). <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/WordPress\/gutenberg\/pull\/68062\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">#68062<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spacing on filters in the editor's page display has been reduced to prevent clipping. <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/WordPress\/gutenberg\/pull\/65835\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">#65835<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, FSE themes will be able to change page templates more easily from within the site editor. <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/WordPress\/gutenberg\/pull\/66591\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">#66591<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"\ud83e\uddf1-correctifs-et-ameliorations-de-gutenberg\">\ud83e\uddf1 Gutenberg fixes and improvements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Several blocks lacked margin management and other controls. These have now been added. <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/WordPress\/gutenberg\/pull\/68450\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">#68450<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/WordPress\/gutenberg\/pull\/64425\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">#64425<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/WordPress\/gutenberg\/pull\/68323\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">#68323<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adding background images (e.g. for groups) is now under a \"+\" button to standardize this optional choice with the other optional choices. <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/WordPress\/gutenberg\/pull\/68085\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">#68085<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last but not least, chevrons for font selection and shadows for deleting everything will be available where they were lacking to re-unify the editor. <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/WordPress\/gutenberg\/pull\/67253\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">#67253<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"\ud83d\udd10-securite-renforcee-avec-bcrypt-pour-le-hachage-des-mots-de-passe\">\ud83d\udd10 Enhanced security with bcrypt for password hashing<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Major security advance: WordPress 6.8 adopts <strong>bcrypt<\/strong> for password hashing, making storage and access protection much more robust.
