FAQ
Can I keep root access?
Yes. You keep a full root access.
On the other hand, any modification made directly by you may have an impact on outsourcing. LRob cannot be held responsible for a failure caused by an external action.
Can I choose an operating system other than Debian?
No. Outsourcing is limited to servers Debian + Plesk.
This guarantees total control of the environment and consistency with LRob's internal infrastructure.
Do you supply the Plesk server and license?
No, not at the moment. Eventually, we hope to secure partnerships to offer you attractive rates on Plesk licenses. But for now, lhe Plesk server and license are at the customer's expense.
You order them directly from the supplier of your choice, then we take care of installation and facilities management.
What does maintenance include?
Regular Debian updates (kernel, security packages)
Updates to Plesk and its extensions
PHP version updates available
Monitoring system stability and safety
Can I skip the registration fee if I've already set up my server?
No. LRob only manages servers installed by LRob.
Registration fees are therefore compulsory. This ensures that machines are deployed according to our own rigorous criteria, guarantees safety right from installation, and avoids endless retroengineering.
What happens if my server goes down at night or at the weekend?
Visit 24/7 monitoring triggers proactive intervention.
Thanks to the GTI (Guaranteed Intervention Time) :
30 minutes during working hours
2 hours on call (evenings, weekends, public holidays)
Do you offer backup included?
Backup is a paying option outsourced via Plesk.
Several levels are available (1TB, 5TB, 10TB, 20TB).
What happens in the event of a serious claim?
If a server is not repairable, or if you have terminated it by mistake, the Standard Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) is implemented.
It consists of :
1. Prepare a new server (supplied by you).
2. Restore a full backup via Plesk.
⚠️ The PRA requires you to have subscribed to our outsourced backup option.
⏱️ The worst case recovery time is estimated at 48 hours maximumThis gives us time to prepare a new server once access has been transferred, and to restore the backup.
This timeframe depends mainly on :
- the volume of data to be restored,
- and available transfer speeds.
This delay is a realistic estimate but cannot be contractual.
Why Debian?
Debian is the mother distribution of Linux. Its reliability is unquestionable. Not only in terms of the system itself, but also in terms of its overall stable approach, which is logical and consistent. It's not the distribution that will offer the latest packages (although that's improving), but it's certainly the one that will offer the most stable packages for production servers.
Why Plesk?
Plesk is a solid, complete, stable and easy-to-use solution that meets the vast majority of use cases. From managing PHP versions by sub-domain, to managing customers and resellers who can easily access their data if we wish (for us, this is very important). Despite our constant searching, we've never found a solution as pleasant and complete. Our experience with Plesk since 2016 is what made large-scale hosting viable and inspired the creation of LRob. We've mastered the system and all its peculiarities to respond effectively to a very wide range of issues and situations. All in all, it's an efficient system in every respect.
